Community solutions

Community solutions

Xeed specializes in developing community and arena solutions for companies wishing to establish or strengthen their market position and gain more value for their net investment. This is especially true for solutions aimed at larger user-/customer groups. Keywords are to develop solutions that create engagement, belonging and value. This is the basic parameters for considering the business on the web. This is true both for open or closed solutions, internal or external. It is the same principles and mechanisms that apply.

What is community?

Community is mostly about the individual as a person and how you are involved as part of a group or a community.

It should be mentioned that there are many different Communities with very different purposes and goals. Xeed defines community as follows:

  • An association of people who consciously / unconsciously have a strong common interest or a dedicated theme to bind to a community.
  • The group has an "unconscious" desire (thought) about maintaining the relationship energetic and / or alive.
  • The use of different systems to keep the community active and available, including the use of discussion forums, e-mail, news groups, web log, archive, content, membership meetings and more.
  • An important objective in the Community is to improve the individual (relative) quality of life, now and forever, and to promote a dedicated soul.
  • For most, it is the community that inspires and leads to share resources and live in the federation.
  • People in the community are united in a commitment to its mission and they are motivated to exercise their talent and devotedly support this mission.

It is much about how society has evolved and what role the Internet has got in people's lives, both private and professional.

A number of psychological factors is underlying the growth of communities. The need for belonging, community, security, liberty, identity and self-exposure is stronger than ever. We see an increasing development of networks where people gather on common themes, be it idealistic, socially, interest-based, needs-based, commercially based, etc. Communities share knowledge that will lead to new power in relation to their specific interests and the desire for status and recognition. The desire to share knowledge collects users and create the basis for entirely new revenue for both the individual and for the group as a whole.

Why Community is important in today's internet society

Internet solutions that interest and provide various forms of new value gathers many users.

Community-building and social network is one of the major social trends that forces the media, businesses and public institutions to think again about the communication with customers, employees, readers and partners. New technology, exemplified through social networks like MySpace, Facebook and VGís Nettby, has rapidly gained much attention, and many users.

Commercial Community / arena-solutions

Xeed is transforming and integrating patterns as we see it in the social network into commercial solutions. It means using the same models for user-driven content by connecting users together. This gives a new dimension beyond the original two-way communication. For public and private companies, this means new opportunities and business models.

The information entered by users is an important raw material for one who owns or operates an online community. Content posted by users get a completely new value by processing the content and  thereby increases the value of it. This is the biggest challenge for an online community, and the largest gold mine.

A community is a multi-way communication channel. The more enabling, the more you get. Not all groups have this as an element in their interaction culture. The biggest challenge of building a community lies in creating activity. It means finding good incentives that encourages users to contribute and then reap the benefits of the joint communities. It requires effort and investment to achieve this, but the prize is great.

Market Perspective

Based on developments in social media the Internet has become the most important channel to promote the visibility, increasing engagement, generate support and increase recruitment. Internet ensures that we can be present where people are and that it is in human nature to want to share experiences with others. We see a growing awareness of this commitment in the commercial businesses on the Internet.

Large user groups on the Internet represents influence. Technological advances are becoming more adapted to structures where people are the premise donors.
